You walk into a Korean pharmacy, grocery store, bookstore, or department store. You know what you want, but you cannot find the shelf.
This is a small moment, but it can feel surprisingly stressful in another language. The good news is that Korean store staff are used to short, direct questions.
You only need a few polite sentence patterns to ask where something is, whether the store has it, and where you should go next.
The easiest question: Where is it?
The most useful pattern is simple: item + 어디 있어요? It sounds natural in everyday stores and is polite enough for normal shopping situations.

Start politely before the question
In Korean, a small 죄송한데 at the beginning makes your question feel softer. It is useful when you are interrupting a staff member who is stocking shelves or helping another customer.

If you can say the item name, put it before 있어요? This can mean "Do you have it?" in a store context.
