In many Korean apartment complexes, there is a small office that quietly keeps daily life running. It may help with parking stickers, building notices, delivery questions, noise complaints, broken lights, or elevator problems.
This office is usually called 관리사무소. If you live in Korea, knowing this word can save you many confused messages to your landlord.
What 관리사무소 usually handles
A Korean apartment management office is not exactly your landlord. It manages the shared building environment: common spaces, notices, facility issues, security, parking, and sometimes move-in rules.
For a problem inside your private unit, your landlord or real estate agent may still be the right person. But for the hallway, elevator, parking area, or building rules, 관리사무소 is often the first stop.
