Your phone rings. The caller speaks quickly in Korean. You catch one word: 택배. If you live in Korea, this moment can happen often.
Delivery drivers usually call for practical reasons: the door code is missing, the address is unclear, they want to confirm where to leave the package, or they cannot access the building. You only need a few calm phrases.
Why the driver may call
A delivery call is usually short. The driver is not trying to have a conversation; they are trying to finish the delivery route. Listen for words like 택배, 문 앞, 공동현관, 비밀번호, and 주소.
If you cannot understand everything, it is okay to answer with one clear instruction.

If you cannot speak much Korean
You can keep your answer very short. "문 앞에 놔 주세요" is enough for many situations. If the driver needs a code, send it by text if you feel more comfortable writing than speaking.
Never send sensitive personal information beyond what is needed for delivery access. A building entrance code is common in Korea, but keep your unit password private.
When food delivery is different
Food delivery calls may be more time-sensitive. The driver might ask where the entrance is or say they have arrived. "제가 내려갈게요" works well if the building is confusing. For package delivery, "문 앞에 놔 주세요" is more common.
The call does not need to be perfect
A Korean delivery call can feel stressful because it is fast. But the driver usually needs one clear answer, not perfect grammar. Remember one instruction, one request to repeat, and one thank-you. That is enough for many real calls.
