First Phrase: "I Lost Something"
Start simple. Do not begin with a long story.

The verb 잃어버렸어요 means "lost." It is polite enough for station staff. If you are nervous, say only the item plus 잃어버렸어요.

Real Moment: Leaving a Phone on Line 2
You get off at Hongdae Entrance Station and realize your phone is not in your pocket. Go to the station office or ask staff near the gate. Start with one sentence: 휴대폰을 잃어버렸어요. Then add the route: 2호선 지하철에 두고 내린 것 같아요. If you remember the time, say 10분 전에 내렸어요.
Show your route on a map if speaking feels difficult. Korean staff need clear details more than perfect grammar: item, line, station, direction, and time.
Second Phrase: "I Think I Left It…"
Sometimes you did not lose the item randomly. You left it on a train, on a bench, or near a ticket machine. Use 두고 내렸어요 when you left something behind and got off the train.

Give the Location Clearly
Station staff need location details. Even if your Korean is limited, place words help a lot.

Give the Time Without Perfect Grammar
Time helps staff search records or contact another station. You do not need a perfect sentence.

Describe the Item
A basic description can separate your item from many similar items.
